At the AGM on Saturday, in answer to a question from the campaign, National Trust for Scotland Chairman Shonaig Macpherson finally publicly confirmed their objection to siting GoApe in the North Wood of Pollok Park saying they were “concerned about the proposed location”.
Furthermore, they declared their readiness to work with the campaign to address our objections. They have agreed to appear on the platform at the 28th October Public Meeting.
Some of you may have seen coverage on STV which reported that the campaign’s “options had been narrowed”, based on this statement from NTS:
which you can view here http://video.stv.tv/bc/news-scotlandtoday-pm-20080927/ (3:00mins)
We feel this report only concentrated on the negative aspects of the situation and we are pleased to report that in discussions with us NTS has agreed to meetings shortly between our legal representatives to clarify our opposing interpretations on the veto issue.
